hello journal. how are things? it has been a few weeks since i last wrote so i have a lot to update. lets see … where to begin. well, today is my birthday!!! gotta love that. had a great time this weekend with the family and friends. my brother, christina, mikey, and lori came in from michigan on thursday evening (late friday morning) to have fun in chicago. we spent all day on friday in schaumburg shopping and relaxing. mikes friend of old from bowlingbrook, todd, came over and we all drank and chatted. i talk with christina and lori about amy, got some pointers, and of course some other good advise. on saturday we went downtown, went shopping, napping, and of course partying. we went to our favorite party spot, the hangee upee. i love that bar … can’t beat the music, the environment, and for some reason every time we go the people there are great. we have so much fun just dancing, singing, and being dumb. we got to the bar around 10pm and left a little after 4am. we ran out of money .. ehehhe … so we had to leave.

lets see what else have i been up to. my workout are going good. i am weening myself off most of my supplements. i am going to see if they are doing any good or not. i am only going to continue taking myoplex, cytovol, and my multivitamin. i think i am taking to much crap to get through this when in fact most of that stuff is meant for athletic people. i updated my fitness timeline today. i lost 10 more pounds in the last 4 weeks. it is not as big a loss as i wanted but given that i went home 2 times and took extended free days those weeks i think that the loss is pretty reasonable. i pushed myself a lot harder two weeks ago and want to continue with that style of working out in the future. i felt like i had a great workout every time. i got up early every morning and did my cardio like i had planned. this week is going to be a shorter version of that week but i am going to push it all the same. i am taking today off as a free day since it is my birthday after all. i wanted to go out to lunch with the gang from work and just relax and celebrate getting old. but i am still going to work out this evening as planned and getting up early tomorrow morning is a must. after 3 days off the program in a 4 day time period i am going to have to kick it into high gear to get the wheels moving again. but given my determination i don’t think it should be that hard.

i am going to be attending the olympia body building competition this october. i am planning on going with amy and maybe christina if everything works out. i am not sure if she is going to have the time off given that it is only 3 weeks after her honeymoon is over. it will be my first big expo and competition. nothing like that small pokey one i went to in elgin a few weeks ago. this one is going to be huge. i am looking forward to it … between the competition, never having been to vegas, and spending the time with friends i am really looking forward to it. i think we are going to meet up with some of the body for life gang as well. a bunch of folks from the online forums i frequent are going to be attending and doing dinner and stuff while they are there so i think we will meet up with them and say hi. should be interesting meeting them all for the first time.

i finally had that appointment with the personal trainer i spoke about before. after making appointments 3 times and having them all canceled due to some emergency or another i finally met with him. he didn’t seem to care about my goals, my progress, or anything to do with me during the whole session. instead all he seemed to care about was selling me on the “super slow” theory of exercising. frankly i don’t think the program itself is that bad. i had read about it before and it is a good mixup program that you can throw into your normal exercise regiment to add some variety. it wasn’t the program that i had issues with. it was the damn trainer, the guy was only concerned about selling me on his studio and his program and cared less about me as a person. the funny thing was, he wasn’t even a good salesman.

work is going great. i love working with parlano. we are working on some great applications that i really think are going to have a huge impact on the industry. we have some really nice deals under way with some big players out there. can’t talk to much about them, you know have we gotta be quiet and all. can’t trump the company announcements. anyhow, having a blast working for them …

i think that covers all the important stuff …

well as the week comes to a close i can honestly say that it went pretty well. no huge speed bumps, no huge changes. nothing to exciting to report. this coming weekend i am going home again. i have to go to my sister-in-law christina’s wedding shower. i am my brothers best man in his wedding and all the guys that are standing up in the wedding have to go to the shower and serve drinks. sounds like it should be interesting … 70+ women all oohing and ahhing over gifts and playing male bashing games … woohoo … wounds like a blast. i am just kidding though, i am looking forward to going. my brother and christina mean a lot to me and i am so happy they are getting married.

last weekend i went home for beth’s birthday. it was really fun … i met some more people that i had never met before but i am sure i will see them at the wedding. i didn’t drink to much which was good, played some cards with joe and cleaned house, and just hung out listening to music. i think everyone there had a great time, even the birthday girl.

well i finally did it … i reopened my everquest account. i know … i said i never would, but i was wanting to play a game, i was missing talking to my friends back home (mike and lori) and my brother. so i decided to open the account up again and give the game a try. i have layed down some groundwork though to make sure this does not become an all consuming game again. i am only playing on wednesdays and fridays and that is assuming i have no other major plans, which on those days i usually don’t. i will only play after i have done my cardio on those days and i will stop the moment i stop having fun. i actually played last night and made 6 bubbs of experience, had fun, and got to virtually hang out with mike. gotta like that …

the fitness software (vivonic) that i ordered a few weeks back finally arrived. i installed it, played with it, and officially started using it this past sunday. i found a few bugs, annoying things, and had a few ideas and i sent them all to the company. they replied back pretty promptly with answers or thanks for the ideas. they seem like they are on track to making this a great piece of software. i already have a few people here at work buying it. it is pretty slick, looks nice, is easy to use, and since it runs on the palm is convenient as all hell.

i am going to cut this one really short …
