i’ve been spending my free time recently playing earth and beyond. if your interested in playing you can download the game and be a beta tester, just wander on over to gigex and register. think wing commander with a multiplayer twist. it’s loads of fun and if it’s any indication i’ve already preordered the game.
i’ve been riding my bike a few times and i’ve been working out consistently. i even have a new workout partner at the gym, my buddy chris. anyhow, look for an update to the fitness timeline soon with my progress and new goals.
work is going great. i’m back in the land of nextstep, objective-c, and into the new land of corba. nothing like a little java <=> visibroker <=> corba / iiop <=> oak <=> objective-c bridge to make life interesting.
i’m a little lite on content right now. there’s not much going on lately. amy and i have been trying to just relax, we’ve been so busy the past few weeks. it feels great to have nothing to do.
The U.S. Government has given the green light to the first private Moon landing. The companies name is TransOrbital and they are based in California. Let’s just hope this is the beginning of a serious commercialization of space.
Our friend Buzz Aldrin finally had enough of those “conspiracy theorists” so he socked one. Good for him …
Call sign for the latest Java project? No, it’s the name of the new moon found around Earth. Yea, I said that right. It appears we picked up a straggler earlier this year and now have ourselves a new orbiting satellite, every 50 days to be exact.
Earth and Beyond by Westwood Studios is now in the open beta testing period and you can download the client from Gigex. It’s a Sci-Fi Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) game where you play the role of a human decedent exploring the galaxy, fighting monsters, and chatting with friends. I highly recommend that you check it out, the graphics are phenomenal and the game play is addictive.
Apple released iCal today. While the calendar is free, publishing your calendar on the Internet requires a .Mac account. The account runs $99.95 per year and comes with many other features including email, remote disk space, iCards, Anti-Virus, and much more. If only I had a mac, some day … some day.
