i’ve been pretty busy recently. between work, the house, my game, and relaxation with amy i haven’t had time to update any of my sites. here’s a quickie summary if your interested.


last weekend amy and i drove to michigan for my buddy brawnski’s wedding. the ceremony was really beautiful and the reception was a lot of fun. i don’t think i saw him or her without a smile the whole night. they are truly made for each other. kudos to him and his new bride for throwing a great party.


amy and i started painting the house. we’re starting in the bedroom and working out from there. we’re doing a faux finish that is kind of a cross between a checkerboard and stripes. each square is a set of stripes going in perpendicular directions to the square next to and above it. it’s going to look fantastic when were done. right now we have the base coat down and are doing the first sets of stripes this weekend. i also want to start another small project like painting one of the bathrooms. something not quite as huge as this yet still something to better the house. maybe next year we can afford some new furniture or a wood floor. it depends on how long we plan on staying here i guess.


i got a cable modem installed on monday from at&t broadband. i’m replacing my sprint broadband wireless connection with a higher throughput lower latency connection. it’s nearly impossible to play any online computer games with that wireless connection let alone try to surf while i’m playing a game. the latency and ping times are just to high. plus there is the fact that sprint stopped taking new customers last september right after i signed up. i’ve been wondering when they were just going to drop off the air, they haven’t yet, but i bet it’s coming soon. anyhow, i now have a new pipe to the internet and am thoroughly enjoying the speed.


i’ve been playing earth & beyond lately. mainly in the evenings when i have nothing else to do anyhow. i finished the beta test and when it was released on september 25th i bought a copy. i have a lot of fun and get to play with my friend mike from back home. my brother was playing it but he dropped it after the beta test. if your in game look me up some time, my character name is galein and i’m on the andromeda galaxy server.


working out is going good. i started back up monday, eating right and working out. i’ve had three clean days so far (today included). i’ve been on again and off again the past few weeks. after i went home for my birthday at the end of august i’ve had trouble getting focused since. i was on track and was losing a lot of weight doing it the right way, but fell. well now that i’m situated at the new job and things are straight at home i’m back on track. i’ve been eat myoplex for breakfast and doing the cafeteria at work for lunch. they usually have a healthy meal each day, but when they don’t i can order the chicken or turkey sandwich which are good as well. i like going there because i can always have a salad; i never ate enough vegetables before. i can also get other sides like cottage cheese, baked potato, etc. they really do have good healthy meals and they don’t cost an arm and a leg either.


i’m loving the new job. it amazes me what a difference it makes working for a manager that understands what it takes for a team to succeed. it truly is the small things that make a job more enjoyable and less monotonous. it feels like i belong again …


the wedding planning has slowed down a bit but should be increasing soon. we’re looking to take care of the rings and the honeymoon shortly.
