this past wednesday our siberian hamsters had babies. specifically adu knocked up elliot and now we have 3 babies. they’re about the size of a nickel or maybe half way between that and a quarter. one is starting to get kind of black but the other two are still pink. elliot is taking great care of them. we gave her this blue half log that she has packed with bedding till she can barely move in it. she gave birth in there this past week. amy and i were suspecting something since she was hoarding food, being very territorial with adu, stealing his treats, and was running around like she was on speed. sounds like most women doesn’t it? anyhow, i’ll try and get some pictures up today or tomorrow on my site, they are pretty darn cute.
well i finished out week eleven yesterday. unfortunately i let my desires get the best of me and i ate bad on friday which meant my measurements on saturday were a bit off. it’s probably for the best though since i really shouldn’t be fretting over the scale weight. i’m in week twelve now and getting focused. i haven’t yet went to the gym today, but amy and i will be going in the afternoon. today is a lbw day and i’m looking forward to it.
entering this week i’m going to be as perfect as i can with my workouts and meals. i’ll keep you updated with my progress and my challenge end summary.
i’m having a good week this week. i’ve hit all my workouts, i’m hitting new 10’s with my new ubw and lbw routines, and my meals are fitting in nicely and they’re mostly all healthy.
i was initially worried about losing my morning workout partner. the knowledge that when the alarm goes off someone is waiting for me has always helped me get out of bed and get moving. but honestly i’m getting up fine in the morning and like that i can sleep in another 20-30 minutes. plus, amy has stepped in and goes with me in the morning when she can, it depends on what we have going on though.
i really feel great right now. my energy is at an all time high, even at 5:00 a.m. when it shouldn’t be. i’m focused and determined to not only nail this challenge and it’s 12 week goals but to line up the goals for my next challenge. i really feel that i can get below 300 for the wedding. if i can’t do it for the wedding it’s an almost certainty that i will be well below it for my 29th birthday in august.
i really feel like i’m finishing week eleven on a high note and i’ll finish week twelve with a level 10 intensity. this is only the beginning, that i can guarantee you.
i got up this morning and before starting my freeday i weighed myself and took some new measurements. i think i’ll wait until the end of the challenge to share my measurements but this past week i lost another 4 pounds. looks like i addresses some of those concerns from last week ahe? that means i’m now down 32 pounds from the start of this challenge. i’m entering week 11 tomorrow.
so what am i going to change next week. well i changed my lbw last week and tomorrow i’m going to change my ubw. i’ll post my new routine when i get it together later tonight. i’m also going to continue changing up my cardio workout. yesterday i used the step machine at the gym. no, it’s not one of those traditional steppers. it’s actually a huge machine with full size steps that rotate around like a treadmill so there’s no wimpy small steps. needless to say i was pretty wasted at the end of my 20 mas (minute aerobic solution) which felt great. so next week i’m going to continue using the step machine and doing my cool down 20 minutes on the treadmill as usual. i find that this really works for me. it’s a combination between the bfl 20 mas and the recommendations of dr. hussman.
over the next few weeks i’m also going to continue closely monitoring meal 3, 5, and 6. those are the meals i seem to have the most trouble with. i’ll be trying to get more veggies in, watching the portion size, and making sure the timing is on plan.
here’s this weeks friday five, thanks again for the link martie, sorry i forgot last week. amy and i decided to take this one together this week.
i’ll try to get next weeks in on time.

i thought i would post a picture up here of the telescope i’m getting soon, i’ve been waiting in line since last may. you should see it to the right of this text. i don’t usually post pictures on my website but this time i think i’ll make an exception.
you should see the fluid motion of the portaball plus the fact that it’s not limited like most reflectors to either altazimuth or equatorial degrees of motion. this means that you can not only point it at what you want in a single fluid motion but your also not forced to stand in weird contorted positions. with the portaball the eyepiece is positioned wherever you want it, just rotate it if you don’t find it comfortable where it’s at. for other cool features and better specifications check out the mag 1 instruments website.
i spent quite a while researching the telescope that i wanted online. i was into astronomy when i was younger but only had a small telescope that wasn’t able to see much. i always wanted something a bit bigger so i could see some of the views i often read about in astronomy magazines. i also wanted a telescope that would not only teach me how to find things via star-hopping but to also help me appreciate the night sky in all it’s grandeur. this scope will give me the freedom i’ve longed for. i’m sure i’ll write more about the telescope when i get it, i just wanted to put this blurb out there though.
