comments welcome

site news no comments »

i just added a free commenting system to the site. i checked out a few different sites online and decided to go with haloscan. it took all of 5 minutes to create the account, edit my template, republish, and then play with my stylesheet a bit. you will notice a “comments (#)” link at the end of each post new. click there to open the comments window and enter your comments for that posting. i still haven’t created a custom stylesheet for the comment page but the generic one looks fine for now. anyhow, let me know what you think.

resurrection complete

i completed the journal resurrection last evening. the archive now has entries all the way back to my first posting in 2000 when i started working out. have fun reading my awful writing and laughing at my grammatical errors.

journal resurrection

i’m starting to convert all of my old journal entries into blog entries. these writings have been offline on my machine for about 8 months. pardon the bad writing style of the older entries, i’m becoming a better writer ever so slowly. it’s actually kind of fun reading some of these old entries, what i was thinking i have no idea. i just finished the 2001 entries but the bulk of the entries are from 2000. if your interested check back by the end of next week and they should all be migrated.

we’re now searchable

site news no comments »

thanks to our friends at atomz we now have a free search engine on this site. again with the free, i know … i know. to use it enter text into the field in the right navigation bar or you can use the advanced search interface. atomz has a very slick, powerful, and highly customizable administration interface that allows you to customize the results page to match your site. it uses their own xml tag set embedded within your html to generate the results page. i highly recommend them for both free and professional search needs.

new weblog look and feel

site news 1 comment »

i updated this website with the new look and feel that i developed for my wideasleep.com domain. i think it is easier on the eyes, makes “blogging” easier, and show’s off the true power of style sheets.

you can check out what i did by downloading the source. to use this javascript place <div id=”landf”></div> somewhere in your html and link the javascript source file in. to see how i’m styling the controls check out the bottom of a stylesheet. if you have any questions drop me a line. i’m doing everything i can to make my sites a more enjoyable experience.

my new look and feel

welcome my sites new dynamic facelift !!!

you can now on the fly change the size of the font this page is displayed in, the style of font used, and the color scheme used to render this page and all sub pages within this site. i was a bit bored and interested in trying out some new things. i liked the colors of some other sites i saw and i also liked the fonts but at the same time i liked the look of what i had. so in the end i decided to leave it up to you all to make it look like you want.

it will only currently remember your preferences while the browser is open. it won’t do it between visits to my site when you close your browser. that’s just due to how i’m using cookies.

let me know what you think guys. i should have some of the sections coming back soon as well.
