I’ve decided to change things up some with my blogging. This website, the seanwillson.com domain, is going to become the jumping point to the different online things I have going on. Trying to put everything in one place is really getting kinda messy and hard to manage.
Because of this I’m moving all of my health & fitness blogging over to my LearnFitness.com domain. I’ve owned it many years now but only really used it for health and fitness things way back in 2000. Well I’m going to be posting all of my status updates, venting, and fitness stuff over there going forward. Also, if your looking for most of my old postings on health & fitness, don’t worry they aren’t gone, I’ve already moved most of them over to their new home.
As always, if your looking for any iPhone or iPad development done you can check out NaNil. It’s a company I started with a friend and we have five applications in the iTunes AppStore with more on the way. One of our newest offerings is the FanGuide Architectural Tour Series for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Look for more posts on the NaNil blog about development of our projects and for developing on the iPhone & iPad platform.
If your looking to follow me in a more social and less structured way you can follow me on Twitter with my nerd or fitness personas. They are definitely different people with different groups of interests. I’d try to join the two but to be honest they have very different goals and friends.
As you can likely see I’ve been working on modernizing this blog as well. I will still be posting here from time to time. It’ll likely be things like Astronomy, Family, Technology, or other things not related to the other two blogs. Not all things are iPhone and Fitness right?
I hope people will take the time to check out Learn Fitness and help me grow it into a informative Health & Fitness community. Have an great day … in fact, do something today to make someone else smile. You’ll be happy you did.

well i’ve finally found the time to get my blog up and running. during my registrar move i decided to move my blog from movable type to wordpress. it wasn’t because of anything mt did or didn’t do … it was mostly due to the convenience of someone else maintaining my blog software. i was able to click a few buttons to get it installed, import all of my old posts, and i was up amd running. so where did i waste the rest of my weeks/months then if it was that easy? well mostly in being lazy … but also in finding a decent theme and then hacking the wordpress php code to get it to render the way i wanted. one thing i really don’t like about wordpress is that it always seems to think it knows how to format my html better than i do. if i tell it to get out of the way then damn it, get out to the way. i shouldn’t have to open php files an comment out formatting lines to get it to behave the way i’d expect when i insert breaks, lists, or paragraph tags. i hope my wordpress experience is much smoother going forward, i’ll keep you posted.

as you may or may not have noticed i’ve taken a posting vacation as of late. between buying a new house, an insane work schedule, and just plain burnout i’ve needed to drop a few things. unfortunately this was one of them, but it had to give somewhere. there are only so many hours in a day. anyhow, i’m going to try to get back into posting my thoughts and ideas and other generic information that i find useful or helpful.
i’ll also try to update a bit with what’s been happening in my life lately. i’m also going to try again to keep myself accountable for working out and living a healthy lifestyle as well. nothing to different than before except trying to post more often like i used to.
thanks to everyone that posted and asked if i was alive and well, you know who you are.

i joined a few web rings last night. i want to see what was out there and was surprised at the number of web rings available at ring surf. there are thousands of them with varying sizes and topics. anyhow, i joined the support the military ring because i wanted to show my support for the people defending this great country of ours. i also found a web ring dedicated to people who are perfectionists about their website called i am a perfectionist so i figured what the heck. since i’m in chicago it’s also appropriate that i join the chicago blogs ring. i also found a pretty popular ring for movabletype users called the mt blog ring, so i joined that one as well. i have links to all of these rings at the bottom of my navigation bar on the left. i’m still a tentative member of some of the rings so the links may not work yet, but they may soon.

you may have noticed that i’ve changed my navigation a bit. on the left hand side you should see 3 different drop downs. rather than litter my navigation with my archive lists for each category, month, and recent entries i though it was best to consolidate them into drop down selectors. you should be able to select them, scroll to the one you want to view, and then just click on it. your web browser should then take you to that location in short order. i’m also planning other cleanup changes as well because i’m anal and like to mess around with web technology. that and there’s the fact the i like my new publishing system, aka movable type. i should also have a advanced search page and the search results pages converted over to my look and feel soon. i’m also working on fixing a bug with cookies not remember people, i know how to fix it but just haven’t started on it yet. after i get the look, feel, and controls working fluidly i’ll start migrating my other content over from the my other sites and then either shut them down or turn them into something else.
